Safety tips for home security
Prepare a vacation is an exciting and equally stressful task. We take care of the details organizational and logistical, have all bills on time, plan what we do at the destination, you pack … But there is a point of preparation voyage that claims that we should not leave it to chance: our home. How do we prepare for the trip? Will you be sure?
The foreign friends are rubbing their hands at holiday periods: Christmas, Easter and summer are the “hard times” for thieves, and if we, above, we let them facilities or conspicuous signs that are not in home for a few days, another reason for attempting to access home and take everything they can.
Above all, do not leave visible signs of our absence
Blinds fully lowered , no lights on all night outage … These signals tell the thieves who are not at home, and that we will probably not be in a few days, so you have free access to housing and our belongings.
Leave the blinds, but at different heights (even some normally lifted, although it “between heat”) is the way to cast doubt on whether we are or not. Similarly, if we were long a couple of weeks, for example, we may be tempted to cut electricity to save a little. If we do so (trying to leave empty the fridge and freezer to avoid further dramas), we will be disabling the buzzer and alarm.
Simply disconnect all electrical appliances, but keep active electricity. So we can be more relaxed. And if we do so with a device designed to turn on and off lights periodically , and for a controlled period of time, much better, because the thief doubt be even greater, and the greater our security.
Social networks can play tricks on us: post pictures on Facebook or Twitter counting how relaxed we are at the beach or how well you eat in such a poolside snack bar are a way to “make them jealous” our friends, and an invitation to theft. Also, keep the relocation of our tweets invites to think that, really, are far from home. If we can prevent this, we will be safer.
In paragraph are the most common things like emergency leave a key hidden somewhere in the garden (of course, this applies to homes or chalets). We just think that anywhere we think, will be the first in which thieves look. And if you find the key, the theft will be easier and less detectable: there are thieves who will be safer.
If we can, or have someone of extreme confidence about (a neighbor, friend or relative), we can ask for help and leave the keys to “move” the flat or house: they open shutters that move pots or hanging or sag clothes drying rack to give the feeling of dwelling house. If this is not possible, we must trust that we have left enough mixed signals so thieves will think.
To round out our plan, we can try to “empty” the house of sensitive elements to theft as jewelry, some technological equipment (laptops, tablets, smartphone reserve …), and everything that comes to mind and that we ‘place’ that good neighbor, friend or relative. This will minimize losses if, finally, thieves have agreed and we have “cleaned”.
